license plates

I was wondering if someone would be so kind to tell me what kind of machine is used to stamp, emboss, etc. the letters on license plates. Also, is there such a thing as an inexpensive roll bender? I need something that would make about a diameter of 4".

Thank you so much for any help.

I would imagie its just a simple press used to make a liscense plate. Not really in a hurry to find out exactly how they are made, as in this state they are made my inmates in the cross bar hotel.

If you looking for a simple ring maybe Harbor Freights ring roller will do,. About $50 if its no more than about 2" in width and it will roll down to a bit larger than 1" diam. Harbor freight is about the cheapest source for a roll former, if their thickness is suitable. Visit my website:

Perhaps which ever state she is ultimately incarcerated in will get some upgraded graphics on their plates. Maybe California will get some competition...

They are made with a press:

The leters and numbers, are on the screen in front of the prison employee/rehabilitation candidate. He inserts the proper numerals and letters and bang. A new plate!
