looking for old Black and Decker sander parts

I've googled to no avail. My old #44 sander needs a new strain relief for the cord. Anybody know of a parts house that might have this? Thanks ERS

I get parts for my old stuff from local electrical service place . I just looked in yellow pages and found someone that listed what ever make I need parts for . I get this out of the next town which is only about

25,000 pop . I would think you can find what you need right near where ever you are . Normally I have to wait a day or two for the part to get shipped in though . Luck Ken Cutt

Any kind of a description available - Grommit size, length, ID, OD... etc.? Ken.

There's a True-Value on the way home that carries stuff like that, I was looking through their bins and drawers for some other electrical/mechanical bits and there they were, a whole drawer of strain reliefs in various sizes and attachment types. From the coiled spring to a higher-tech waffle-pattern plastic type that I'd never seen before. Might be you just need to find a real hardware store. If wally-world/Home Despot/Lowe's has done them all in in your area, you have my sympathy.

The strain relief fits into a 5/8 hole, the cord is 11/32 dia. and the relief is 3 7/8 long. I will be replacing the cord as well. So a relief with the proper OD is most important. I sure wish tools today were built the way this one was. Some tools have been lightened up with tough plastics and the old style aluminum housing were not as good but a sander needs some weight so a person doesn't have to bear down on it. Because of the internals of this sander and the housing I think it is worth spending time and money on, even exceeding the price of some new ones. ERS
