I'd like to add an indexable face mill, preferably
6" diameter to my mill tooling. Will an R8 spindle handle that diameter without excessive flexing and chatter?- posted

You've got two chances, slim and none. I got one this size for my NMTB40 4 hp. Excello and I can only do very light cuts. This machine just LOVES a 3" sandvick R390 face mill. Make PILES o' chips fast. Inserts do make a huge diference on the large diameter face mills.

Probably have to remove half the inserts and take light cuts. Anything over three inch is a waste of dollars.
