A long time ago a British fellow mentioned that there was a denomination(pre-decimalization, I think), popularly known as a "hate you" because itwas small, hard to keep track of, and nearly worthless.Was it a half-pence? If not, what was it? Or am I dreaming?

And guineas. When I went to college, courses were 5 guineas per year with labs, 3 without. Then there's "Mony a mickle maks a muckle".

OTOH, can you see paying a parking ticket in quarter farthings? Or your taxes?
