Ssssssh, we're not supposed to notice. We are supposed to, however, think there was a surplus during the clinton years when he used enron-esque number shuffling to pretend we had a surplus (even though the debt continued to climb in those years...hmmm...how could that be...)
The overall deficit *increased* 148 billion in the first part of 2007.
The Bushinistas will latch onto any statistic, valid or not, in an attempt to make their boy look good.
That is the definition of deficit, deficit is an increase in debt per year (or month).

Perhaps taken alone, but a quick Google of "federal deficit" shows that the common meaning is the same as the "national debit", the total long-term indebtedness of the US government.
The rate of the growth of the national debt shrank. Its like your wife coming home from shoping saying I just saved you
10000.00 bucks. I bought this diamond ring for only 10 grand when I could have bought the other one for 20.John
Isn't that what I said?
It's a good thing the "Dumocrats don't do that, huh?
The Dumocrats cannot even control their bowels, much less the economy. Absolutely nothing has happened in the 6 months since the big talkers took office except gas prices are up and the ragheads are waiting for us to surrender.
Compared to the tax and spend Dumocrats?
All debts are paid by the same guys: the taxpayers. If you don't understand that, you must have been sleeping in Economics 101.
I wonder..is that Bush's fault too?
No wonder the media didnt report it....

The Lefttards will deny any statistic that refutes their anti-Bush rhetoric.

And if you tax a corporation, the taxes are eventually paid in the product price by the end users. Yup, the little guy.
