Lookup jewelry makers in you local phone book. There should be several in most medium size cities. Verify that they are licensed goldsmiths and look at their work. Pick one that's done work you like.
In the US, there is no such thing as a "licensed goldsmith", unlike in several European countries. Here, anyone can call him/herself a "goldsmith".
