Minimum wage workers typically spend most of their money; so it ends up repeatedly cycling through the economy, instead of someplace in the Caymans.
Increasing the minimum wage is probably one of the very best options available for improving the domestic economy.

You are saying employers currently hire and pay people they can do without because they come at such a cheap rate ????
If they could do without them, the workers wouldn't be there in the first place. The only situation where your idea works is if the choice between the cost of a person vs the cost of a machine to replace them is right at the tipping point of equal.
Many employers will realize they can lay off people if business gets thin but they can not lay off the machine; once bought, they still have to pay for it.
