readywelder II 10000ADP - any one use one?

I've got a Readywelder, can't remember the model # offhand. It works pretty well for the 2 spools of flux cored I've burnt in it so far. No complaints at all. I run it off a DC stick welder.

I have one, and its great for field work. Just take two 12 volt starting batteries, and no need to bring out the generator or 100 feet of cable. Have done both aluminum mig and flux core on steel.

I just fired mine up of my Dynasty 200DX. I think it's going to work fine, just need to practice a little. I started at 130A for .035 flux core steel, seems too low. 150A ran smooth. The pot for speed seems too loose, easy to bump. I have to check the manual and see if there's a way to tighten.

For rotating knobs, an o-ring under the knob will usually add some resistance to turning. Depending on the size of the knob (some have a flared skirt), adding an o-ring will create some friction between the knob and the panel. The o-ring will also help keep fine dust away from the pot shaft. On other types of equipment, a felt washer can be utilized. Some push-on knobs can be drilled and tapped for a setscrew to help maintain a slight pressure toward the panel.

Picked one up last July, very happy with it. I've used it on site w/2 12vt deep cycle batteries for railing repair (flux core) I think it has paid for itself based on the site work alone. I has also used it in the shop hooked up to my HTP tig welder for some alum mig. It works well but I found it kind of fussy until dialed in. I use it mostly for on site stuff w/ flux core, if I start using it more in the shop I will make up a cable set better suited to my welder with quick connects for the gas hook up ect. The fix for the loose control dials is to place an O-ring on the shaft under the dial (Thanks to Ernie L. for that tip)
