It will not make any significant difference in speed where the hard drive is not the bottle-neck. USUALLY booting will be enough faster that you can notice it - but until you get into heavy database use or opening LARGE files, you will not see much difference in normal operation over a good SATA drive with a decent sized cache.
Generally speeking, hibernation is a "broken" feature - AKA, a "BUG" on most systems.
Real fun is doing that test on military radios installed in a vehicle, and the entire vehicle is on a huge shock table.
