The new F-35 Stovl

You make a good case for the F-35.

My biggest concern is simply this: When it's gone, it's ALL gone.

In air superiority, depth counts.

Because you WILL have losses when the game starts...

I may be in some ways, but anybody who looks to Gumby as his hero is in much worse shape than I am.

Me too. But we've got a bunch of armchair military strategists here who know everything.

Non-retired veterans have VA for service-related disabilities. The rest are shit out of luck.

I think she's just plain stupid.

You're probably 300 lbs and wear sweats and a tube top.

Legitimate vetrerans can have non-service connected illnesses and disabilities.

The VA is under no obligation to treat them.

Glib? Much of what you know is wrong and you just won't shut up about it.

I'm concerned that no one will want to serve in the military because there are so many unappreciative asshoes that just aren't worth the effort. Such as yourself.

Of course. Which is why no one looks to me as any sort of hero. Im simply a vet. No more, no less. One of millions who served.

You on the other hand are a fat..emensely fat far leftwing extremist fringe kook. And no one with a single functioning brain cell considers you anything other than pond scum.

Shrug

One of the problems is that these all-purpose airplanes usually aren't, at least the guys that have to fly them don't reckon so.

I worked on the F-111 test program which was supposed to become an all purpose bomber and really it didn't solve anyone's problem. SAC was supposed to get it to replace the B-52, but it couldn't carry enough weight far enough so they only ended up with a couple of squadrons; TAC was supposed to get it for a short range bomber and then had to take some - flew at least one mission against N. Vietnam and lost all three airplanes in one mission; the Navy was supposed to get some but they weaseled out because the thing couldn't take off from a Carrier except in a typhoon; the Australians were hoodwinked into taking some that sat somewhere up in the N. Territories for years. All that money and the only good thing was that General Dynamics (a Texas based company) keep their head above water.

Cheers,

My, how things have changed after several bouts of Republican cost-cutting...

I can remember taking my dad to and from the VA hospital. Good thing he passed.

No kidding. It is also rare to find a VA doctor who is competent and gives a damn. All the doctor did at my last appointment was to complain about the two hour drive from his house every day. I tried to interrupt him to tell him I was having trouble urinating. He just told me not to drink much water rather than find out what the problem was. I had a monitor fall on my legs a few weeks ago, and they just started to bleed on Saturday. It will take another month or so, before I can drive to the urgent care clinic at the VA hospital, as usual.

Unless they are well below the poverty level, or homeless.

That is true. The VA will serve non-connected if they are destitute.

Sad that we vets who gave so much but can't get work, and others who gave nothing and won't work, but want everything.

A lot of Vets that need help won't even try, because they have to admit they can't afford it. I hear it all the time, "Why bother, I don't qualify anyway". The Ocala National Forest has over 3000 homeless Vietnam era Veterans living in lean-tos and other makeshift structures. They have been shit on so many times by liars and bureaucrats that they no longer trust anyone. Most of them won't even trust the doctors and nurses at a medical stand down.

If Gunner is right, they'll get theirs soon enough.

I'd like to see some of these libbers look up what a stand down is and go volunteer.

Then get back to us.

I pray Gunner is >dead wrong< and it doesn't go down that way.

The F-35 _is_ the current generation.

Drones are fine for dealing with terrorists, but in a fight against first-world nations, he who radiates is lost, and drones _have_ to radiate. And nobody with any sense is about to turn an artificial stupidity loose with live weapons.

You assume they even care about veterans enough to take a look.

Not the best scenario but if they push things too far, who knows what will happen?

Look at our Civil War. Study it. We don't want to go there.
