I was browsing the group but couldn´t find any link to a picture or drawningof a welding table. Any suggestions how to make one? A heavier table is inmy mind, for making frames, doors, pipe constructions etc. What kind ofclamps or fittings you use?Jukkis

I have made several. The one I liked most was made out of 3" x 3'8 angleiron. It weighed a ton, and did not flex. First off, let me say that Ihave used mine primarily for the manufacture of ornamental metal, but atable can be used for most anything you can lift up there.Having made several, I will share some things I learned ................Check junkyards for materials. You can buy a lot of good heavy stuff thereCHEAP. Some buffing and paint, and you are good to go.I like a 4' x 10' table. It lets you build 10' sections of ornamental metalor longer. If you DO build a long table, use strong enough materials, orput a center support.I use angle. I currently use 3/8 x 2, but at ten feet it has some flex, sowhen I finally put it where it is going, I will have to put a center supportunder the middle.I put four parallel pieces on the long way. Space them so that you have oneat the edge, one at 12", one at 30" and one along the other side. This letsyou easily make ornamental metal...

Actually it's interesting you should say that. I usually tack weld to a stroingback rather than clamping, because you need some pretty serious clamps to stop welding distortion, on heavy runs.
