Yours may well be a better specimen than later models. My own 5 inch HF vise almost stripped its screw after modest use, and became hard to use.

I have WAY more than enough projects on my plate right now. You've seen my place, it's not gotten much better lately...
Looking at a couple immigration options. I could be out of here middle of next year. I think I can manage without it until I'm there.

Yeah, you and I have deer paths to and from tools. Other people have real live _floor_space_.
You meant emigration, eh, mate? You're outta here and goin' Down Under to be with your sheila? I used to have a long distance relationship with a lady in NorCal when I was in LoCal, but I'd see her every month via a Southwest Airlines $39 RT flight. You've really outdone me there.
-- "Human nature itself is evermore an advocate for liberty. There is also in human nature a resentment of injury, and indignation against wrong. A love of truth and a veneration of virtue. These amiable passions, are the latent spark. If the people are capable of understanding, seeing and feeling the differences between true and false, right and wrong, virtue and vice, to what better principle can the friends of mankind apply than to the sense of this difference?" --John Adams
About 25 years back, senior son gave me a 4" import vise to replace the little clamp-on I had been using (I still use it outdoors to hold items on which I am using the angle grinder). A couple years ago I invested $5 in a Henry #3 and was totally amazed at how my life had improved. Gerry :-)} London, Canada
Ah, well emigrate, immigrate, two sides of the same coin. But I tend to think of the destination rather than the departure.
Yeah, well, my last trip was almost $1300, and that left me about 400 miles short of cashing in my FF miles for a damned cheap round trip. Uh-oh, United doubles the FF miles required for that. Well, I'll go one-way free next time, but the other way is almost what I paid for the last round trip. Cheap flights seem to be going away... :( Gonna -have to- move, it's getting too damned expensive flying back and forth...
And funny thing about long distance relationships, I passed up dating a wonderful lady in Sacramento back about 1982, as I thought 30 miles was too far... lol
