ALDI Compressor Back on Sale

ALDI have their compressor with tools back on sale again from thursday

1st March for =A359.95

I bought one about 15months ago and it has been pretty useful, even the gravity fed spray gun and air brush that came with it have worked well. Can't really go wrong for this sort of money, as it has a 3-year warranty too.

For those with existing air tools/equipment the connectors are euro- style rather than PCL.

I wonder who invented that?

I've never seen any garage or similar using anything other than PCL. I use PCL here.

No great problem! Your local compressed air specialist firm will have all the necessary bits and pieces from which you can cobble together adapters.

Have you got any of the other tools they're offering?

Unfortunately, yes.

I'd avoid the air impact wrench as I think an asthmatic grandma has more puff in it. They obviously measured the 230ft lbs of torque by Lilliputian standards....

Of course, you have to remember that when testing the equipment they did have a 300psi air supply at about 25cfm to get to the 230ft lbs figure, and it was achieved just before the whole thing self destructed

they're pot luck, the cheap rattle guns. Mind, the 65-quid one from axminster, while better, is not perfect - at times it declines to rattle when going forwards. I think it might be improving with use.

got one of they 3/8" drive air ratchets (non-impact one) and it's dead good

- not from Aldi though, from justoffbase - I think it was a decent draper I went for.

on the subject of compressors, I only have one euro-crud connector, and that's on the end of the hose that plugs into the compressor. everything else is PCL. if ICBA I'd change the fitting on the comp.

I wonder if you could answer a question about this. It says in the ad. that the compressor has automatic stop/start. Does this mean that the compressor shuts down when the reservoir is up to pressure, or does the compressor run all the time and just vent excess air?

ssor with tools back on sale again from thursday

It gets up to pressure (120psi) in about 2 minutes then shuts off, then will switch back on when pressure drops to around 80 psi.
