Any Diesel experts?

I've acquired a non-working 1992 diesel Wacker (compactor) plate of enormous size (144Kgs) fitted with a Farryman 15D single cylinder diesel engine. I think that the problem is the injector as it's nose looks horrible (semi-melted), and if I disconnect the pipe into the injector the pump squirts fuel, whereas the injector only gives a dribble if run in free air. The injector is a Bosch KBEL53P2/13 and the only web reference I've found is Bosch in Germany offering one at

202 euros (yikes!) Are these things re-workable? Are there clones or equivalents? How can I prove that the pump infact gives enough pressure?

TIA,

AWEM

Simple answer is to take the injector to a service specialist, they don't usually charge much to tell you that it's knackered At that age, I shouldn't think there would be any problem getting new nozzle etc., though I can't speak from experience of that particular type. Try a google search for something like 'diesel fuel injection service' for your area, should turn up a few names.
