Mines a Pint...

...of oil please. Bit of a long shot, but I need some oil for my milling machine -mobil vactra would do nicely. But it comes in 25L drums from the oil supplier I spoke to, and while it isn't hugely expensive 25L would last me a lifetime (and there would probably still be some left). And I'd have to put a 25L drum somewhere indefinately.

If anyone has a drum of this around, would they sell me a pint or so to keep me going. I'm aiming to go to the model engineering exhibition on Monday and could collect there (I'd swap you a pint of beer for a pint of oil, but apparently there isn't a bar there).

Have you tried

Dick Gays, Leicester.

They have a good selection, and will sell in the kind of quantity that I'd like. Shame the postage is more than the cost of the oil though :(

I presume that you are not using your machine on a continuous manufacturing basis in which case, if it is for gears, any SAE 90 gear oil will not harm your machine.

At the model engineering show today I spotted that Warco do 2L containers of "headstock oil" (Shell Tellus 23 I think). much more managable than a 25L drum, and at £8 for 2L not unafordable -no postage either.
