No Dawn Chorus?

Now that the twittering of the birdbrains has died away, let us bring this group back to what it is intended for; a discussion group on the subject of Ham Radio.

Remember, Ham Radio is a technical pursuit for those suitably motivated and qualified. It involves some operating of radios, but only after one's efforts in technical experimentation, training and evaluation have taken place. Any conversations that arise are always about technical matters.

CB Radio, and it's other manifestations (M3/CB Radio and the CBers-Masquerading-As-Radio-Hams), by contrast, are for those who have the brains of turnips; who use their Cheque Books (CB) to buy off-the-shelf equipment that they are unable to modify or to repair. Any conversation from CBers is typified by personal insulting remarks, much as they spew forth in this NG.

Oops - wrong group, although the sentiments might apply to this group - the birdbrains are, from their headers, congregating in the threads provided for them.

Obviously, those technicalities don't apply to failed software professionals who use Outlook Express to post to the wrong newsgroup

The odious microbe is obviously jealous of other people having brains because if he had ten times as much he might qualify as a moron.

Presumably you refer to the twittering of the type of birdbrain that seems unfamiliar with consumer law and how to deal with allegedly-defective goods? There was a memorable thread or two recenly on this in another ng, which you may have seen.

Congratulations! The lesson seems to be penetrating at last. In fact - according to BR68 - self-training in operating is the fundamental reason for the licence. There is a subset of that that mentions technical experimentation.

However, you have forgotten to mention the involvement of the Short Wave Listener.

Presumably you have the New Licence Structure to thank for that.

Pure claptrap. See your BR68, or you can download it from the RA website.

OOPS! I forgot that you don't access the web due to the cost of phone calls, and your ng postings travel via a method or route that appears to be unique to you.

And, of course, you show the utmost consideration and maturity by rising above what you perceive to be such remarks, to continue to address the core of the discussion? Your posting record might show this not to be the case. So, what was the point of your posting, apart from acknowledging the benefits of the NLS?

The last time you posted to the wrong group - only days ago IIRC - you claimed it was 'a joke'.

What was the problem this time?
