That means you will be noticing a blown lamp ten times more often than a room with a single bulb in it. In my opinion only, dimmers do tend to make lamps last much longer. I suspect the reason is not simply due to the fact that they are run at less than full brightness, but also to the fact that they suffer less thermal shock at turn on. You turn them on, then relatively slowly increase the brightness to full.
