OT. Engineers (daughters) on the move - help needed

A question for all you experienced world travelers. My daughter is about to spend several months in the USA and we have just found out her travel/medical insurance will only cover trips up to a month, they want =A3220 to cover the extra six weeks. Does anyone have any recommendations for travel/medical insurance that will cover up to three months in Washington? I know it is OT but time is running out and surely someone will know. Any other medical/accident issues I should check before paying up?

Regards

Keith (Worried Dad)

If you can get the insurance arranged by the organisation she's working for (or travelling with) it's often a much better deal. When I worked in the US I got three months insurance for about =A390 (I didn't actually have to pay for it, but I knew the cost because I had to deal with the receipts, etc.)

Hi, thanks to all for the advice.

I have had a personal recommendation from someone who recently had a problem while away and AXA coughed up $32,000 medical expenses plus additional stay/return costs without a problem. As their quote is just over =A3100 and close to Chris's experience, I've gone with them. It is under half of what they Post Office wanted to extend her current (annual) travel policy so we won't be re-newing that when due.

Thanks again for the replies

Best regards

Keith
