OT Norton Security for Chris Heapy's site

Do any you use Norton anti Spam and security. I have got this working with XP well now except it will not allow me to look at the adverts section of Chris heapy's site, strange as e-bay is no problem. I don't want to totally disable it as it does filter out over a 100 Spam e-mails a day.

Any help much appreciated.

Can't find the link there is just a space where I thought the link was. I thought link was under the ME society link?

M.E. NEWS ME Society (missing link???) Trade Ad's M.E. Links

I am Running Norton 2004 and Antispam on windows 98. Not found any problems on any sites yet. Pop up blocker works well. Anti Spam picks up 400 Spam's a day straight into the Spam folder.

Wonder whether you could try Configure General Slider moved down to bottom

Does this make a difference?

I wonder if any addresses in the blocked list are from easynet.co.uk and this is blocking the sites on that domain also. Although I would not have thought it would work this way.

This cut and pasted from Chris's site where it appeared today:-

Please Note: If you cannot access the above links to the adverts pages, it is probable that 'Internet Privacy' software is blocking them. I am aware that "Norton Internet Security" (and others) will do this. The get-around is to adjust the settings so that this website is displayed unfiltered. I should hasten to add that there is no active-X, no Java, and no useage tracking or logging operating on this website. The 'privacy' settings are just protecting you from what it believes to be advertisments (duh!).

Same problem here - it is not security related in my case, the astro ads page title shows fine, the ME one doesn't and hasn't done for well over a year. There is a problem in the HTML somewhere on that page that my system (and others) doesn't like.

Where do you mean for. Configure

I have found the slider under privacy control and turned that down and turned ad blocking off but I still cant get into the private adds. no problem with the events or suppliers adds.

I have also tried turning Security off but no luck.

I am using the 2004 version and other than this its great Spam all goes straight to the Spam folder.

Sorry should have said click on Antispam next to green button then Configure General Slider

Sounds like you found your way there OK.

If I go to the page I see the main page with the sidebar I thought there used to be a link under "ME Society" on the sidebar?

If I click "Index" top left I go to "Model Engineer support page"

Click link on the centre bar, "Advertisements" right hand side of bar above "ME Society News" and "Links".

This takes me to Model Engineer adverts page, I thought this used to have months listed so I should be seeing February January December I don't see any of these.

Windows 98 with Norton Antivirus and Virus scan 2004

Tried on another machine windows XP with Norton Antivirus 2003 updated to latest updates, I get the left hand link under ME Society and the months listed on the Model Engineering Adverts page. Now bookmarked this on another machines. Must be anti Spam stopping it.
