Tragedy in Southampton

Ford seem to have just announced that Transit production will cease in Southampton in 2011. Not certain whether they will import from Turkey instead.
How will stuff get transported after 2011?

Can`t see them abandoning the Trannie as it`s been a major success story for them.Nowhere near as reliable now as they used to be.I`ve given up on them and moved to Iveco 35`s,a far superior motor with a proper chassis and twice the pulling power. Mark.

They are going to produce chassis-cab versions, not the full panel van at the Southampton plant. Looks like long-term shut-down.
