10/24/06 No surprises here ! PPO and the FR used in this resin combined with the fact you have residual moisture always present in this resin and acidic by products from processing due to degradation and the FR is most probably halogenated all combine to plate out on the insert mold to corrode the metal. There is a product on the market called Alterin 110 from the Zeodex Corporation in Ajax Ontario that you can add to the Noryl FR grade either alone or as a Masterbatch to scavenge the acids and buffer the system. This material is used today in Polyimides and other high temperature resins for other effects but its powerful and extremely stable. Call then at 905-686-4335. They also have operations in Europe, China, India and Latin America and US.

Hi Magicjoe.

Thank for your kind response. Beside using additives to the mat'l used, is there any good anti-rust lubricant agent to do the same job, our customer do not allow any additives to their consigned material.
