Graphics cards & geometry picks

I've been running 2 - 1280x1024 lcd monitors with an nvidia quadro xgl 980 primarily with proe. I recently changed out one of the monitors with a 1920 x 1200 monitor. Since then picks have been much less responsive. It's sometimes impossible to make some sketcher picks. I assume this has to do with the video card having to deal whith so much more data. Is there a card that handles my problem better?

thanks

We are running HP workstations with Quadro 980XGL graphics and Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer 3.0 USB mice. When we switched to WF3 (build F000), we began having the same problem with making mouse picks.

Someone suggested that the problem would be solved by switching to PS/2 mice. Sure enough, it did fix it. In fact, just using the USB to PS/2 adapter that comes with the mouse solved the problem.

I don't know if it's the graphics card and the mouse together that cause the problem, but I'd be curious if this applies to you.
