# relations

Hi all, I have two discs about 30" in diameter. The bottom one is fixed (no rotation or other movement). The top one is suspended about 3" above the bottom one with a PIN constraint and rotates around the common center of both discs.
A PIN is used because the top disk must raise and lower during rotation. There is a door type hinge fixed underneath the top disk, close to the circumference of the disk with the other wing set at an angle of about 45 degrees from the fastened wing. On the bottom edge of the hinge is a point which is constrained to a curve near to the outer edge of the bottom disk with a SLOT constraint (point on a line). The top disk rotates and carries the hinge around. At a certain place around the curve, I need for the angle of the hinge to change to about 135 degrees (open the hinge more). I placed a point along the curve and intended to use relations to change the angle of the hinge when the point on the hinge aligned with the point on the curve. But the relations doesn't seem to recognise points or datumns etc. I tried to do this using the angle between two datum planes but because of the PIN constraint this wouldn't work. I also tried using ROTATION AXIS on the PIN and although it shows current angle, I can't get the component I.D. for the angle text. Can someone please offer a solution. I am using WF3. Thanks Peter
