IC Timer Cookbook 2nd edition by Jung. ISBN 0-672-21932-8 covers the 555, 556, 558, and several others.

Forrest Mimms has a book on the 555. You should be able to pick it up at Radio Shack.

Hi Parkc23

There are many many websites which have information on the 555 timer. You will probably also find application circuits in the datasheets that you might find useful. I would check these out first before you spend your money.
