Has anyone made a robot that serves drinks at parties?

I don't know why I'm facinated by this. But as soon as I get a house, I'm going to get working on a robot that'll carry a tray of refreshments around the living room looking for flesh-tones and warm spots to offer it to.

Has anybody done this? I'm looking for ideas

For several years, the American Association for Artificial Intelligence (AAAI) has held a mobile robot competition called "Hors d'Oeuvres Anyone" at its annual national conventions. "Robots serve and interact with humans"

I think I saw an R2 unit doing this on a barge...

I have been thinking about it, I'm working on the paltform as I write. What have you learned?

Not much. I've read about the "Hors d'Oeuvres Anyone?" competition- but these bots are a bit out of my league.

I'm trying to find some home-made ones on the web

Here's mine: http://64.46.156.80/robot/

Check out the latest issue of Servo.

wow,

roboticians sure aren't very creative with their platforms.

Mine looks very similar :-)
