They have a pill size robot with a camera built in, You could swallow it, and in a few hours it'll reach it's destination. Along the way it'll take thousands of digital photographs too.

Crosspost to scot.tld removed. What is that group for, anyway? It's not on Earthlink's server but Google is of course filled with crossposts responding to this net.troll.

But I was surprised no >I want to send a probe to Uranus next year and I need a robot - rover

A Ford Probe. According to the guys on Car Talk, it's the perfect vehicle for a proctologist.

A couple years back I discovered that the son of a friend of mine was doing research on robotics and medical systems.

So I immediately wrote the son inquiring about what he was doing.

He sent me back a long email with several attached documents explaining the mechanical arm contraption that was to be used to check prostates.

The attached documents had nice diagrams showing how the patient, a man, would lie on his side and the mechanical contraption would enter from the back end and er... poke around at the subject organ.

I decided then and there that whatever I did, it sure would not involve medical applications of robots! :-)ooooooo
