Motor drivesss

add buffers.

In other words, you want to do this?

Stepper motor (2) ----- .---. | | |M |---------|---|-------------- .--- |---------|---|-------------- | '---' | | X lead screw (2) | | | .-----. .-----. | | | | | | | | | | | o-----o o--. | | | | | | | | | '-----' '-----' | | | Control Driver | | | | | | | .---. | | | |M |---------|---|-------------- '--' |---------|---|-------------- '---' | | ----- Table

Why not do this:

Stepper motor (2) ----- .-----. .-----. .---. | | | | | | |M |---------|---|-------------- | o--o--o o----' |---------|---|-------------- | | | | | '---' | | X lead screw (2) '-----' | '-----' | | Control | Driver | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | .-----. .---. | | | | | |M |---------|---|-------------- '--| o----' |---------|---|-------------- | | '---' | | '-----' ----- Driver Table

On another note, I have been trying to drive two steppers in sync, with a configuration allready available. Its and XYZ table, but with no Z. I added the Z and it would have drived one stepper OK. I was going to add two DC power amplifiers to Tee off the drive feed, to power the two steppers requiring 1.2 amp each. Is there something wrong with this idea . Even the orginal idleing will work as I see it.

I tried driving the steppers in parallel and series. The series worked best but there is not enough torque with the way the current limit driver is set, and I can't really change anything there, so thats why i want to add buffers.

That was my intention. The stepper driver will be buffered by the additional amplifiers. The stepper driver is current limited, I can't change it. I am looking at a stereo amplifier to use. This is a Z vertical axis. I didn't want to have two motors, but I have to live with it.
