80 years ago today

Today is the 80th anniversary of Robert Goddard's first liquid fuel flight.

To which MY Goddard says "Woof Woof ru Woof"

What's the appropriate gift for an 80th anniversary? Let's look it up.

1st, paper; 2nd, cotton; 3rd, leather... 10th, tin... 25th, silver... 50th, gold... ah, here it is: 80th, APCP.

Excellent!

Bob,

I have this image of handing out anniversary rings to the party goers...

rings made of APCP, and a few other useful materials...

(call it an artistic timeline, or just a really bad idea...)

Would these "rings made of APCP" weigh 62.5 grams or less?

62.5 grams is a damn big ring, isn't it?

That's according to BATFE.

Just trying to make it Easy AccessT...

that would be a ring that goes far below the realms of "bling-bling."

But it would be legal, at least in the sense of rocketry marketeers, maybe not the ATF.

Darrell,

such a ring sounds like a wonderful summer project. Building the molds, CAREFULLY carving the rough products, adding the trim...

I'm figuring that the ring would be about 10 cubic centimeters. That's a two fingered ring. I'll go and scratch up some quick designs for such rings...

BTW, can anybody give me the actual density for APCP?
