Happy new year! We just hit the big '04 here a few minutes ago.

Here's hoping the coming year brings a brighter future for rocketry and greater profitability for our manufacturers, vendors and publishers.

More people will be flying rockets due to the Fly Rockets commercial and website Jerry will start shipping motors! Aerotech will bounce back and do well NPRM 968 will go into effect We will finally get a judgment on our lawsuit

That could easily start at home with the NAR and TRA with a few strokes of the pen. Have they changed their minds and agreed to make those strokes I have mentioned for perhaps 8 years now?

Speaking of which, what's the actual involvment rate this has generated. OK we got sagans of hits when the show ran. But how many people have joined NAR and/or TRA from the ad. How many people have bought anything from one of the vendors? Exactly what did we get for $70K+

Any one have REAL numbers.

The one report I've heard was NOT good :-(

Way to go Doc!! You left Jerry nearly speachless! :-) Here's to a great 2004........at least we start with all kinds of hope.

No we didn't. We got about 80,000 hits. A truly modest figure compared to any otherTV advertised website.

1. It seemed to reawake more BARS than it did bring new blood, but it did do that.
2. People have bought from vendors as a result. USR in particular more than broke even and we were on the BOTTOM of the vendor list. We have actual available shipping product and are not in BK however.

I don't think the number of people joining NAR / TRA is an accurate reflection if the true effect. Also, in many cases, the effect won't be seen for months.

I'm satisfied with what I got for my $100 which, is not part of your $70k+ - know what I mean?

The question - 'What did WE get for our $70k+?"

The $70k+ came from many different sources. Each one had it's own expectations & motivation. As a result, I would not consider it realistic for any one or group for that matter to expect it to conform to their expectations. IMO, a lot of the results will not be seen by NAR /TRA but rather local clubs & manufacturers.

As I said, I'm satisfied with the results. I didn't have big expectations and considering when it was aired, I suspect that the impact won't be huge because it was right before winter. Our club did have a lot of hits that came from the Fly Rockets site & a lot of people bookmarked out site. We'll see if we have results come spring.

The local NWO TRA club got at least one new member directly, and I got a new customer out of him as well. So, one for a club and one for a vendor. hum. I'm sure the residual effect will be numbers we can't measure.

HECK, JUST the rocket chalange show caused so much searching for model rockets, my page views increased 600% or more each time the show ran for three days after wards.
