Semi-OT: RMR Tsunami relief

I'd like to beg your indulgence for just a moment.

The recent magnitude 9.0 earthquake and resultant tsunami in southern Asia has been utterly devastating. The UN is saying that this will be the largest relief effort ever mounted.

The death toll today stands at just over 44,000, but I fully expect it to climb very much higher. It nearly doubled overnight, from 24,000. I expect that the secondary deaths due to disease, hunger, and exposure will cause the figure to climb towards 100,000.

Events like this remind us that we live on a small, vulnerable planet, and that at some level, we are all brothers and sisters huddled together for warmth and security against a hostile and unpredictable universe.

Propulsion Polymers has made a modest $100.00 donation to the Red Cross to help with relief.

I would ask other vendors and hangers-on in this forum to look into their hearts and see if they can donate to the relief effort also. Thank you for your time

I made a similar donation through my local Methodist church, to a special fund they set up for this disaster. I trust the church to get the money where it needs to be without peeling any more off than necessary.

(I'm not a pillar of the church, I'm a buttress. I support it from the outside.)
