:)

It was as accurate as 62.5 :)

And 62.14 is only an "estimate".

If a number has more significant digits displayed, doesn't it make it more accurate?

:) :)

Now THAT's accuracy!

More precise, but not more accurate. Just picking nits today :-)

Oops. I'm wrong about that (and about most other stuff).

I believe the target was 68 miles, and the lower altitude achieved was due to an early engine shutdown.

According to the Beeb website it was to do with a flight system failure:

formatting link
"The team behind Monday's historic first private space flight is trying to work out what went wrong with the flight control system on SpaceShipOne.

The craft experienced a serious anomaly between the time its motor ignited and when the vehicle reached the pinnacle of the voyage 100km above the Earth."

It was a wrong estimate.

God RMR was nice to read while you were out for a day or so.

Back now to the servers that don't allow you.

Bye.

Not if the "extra" digits are incorrect.

Jerry also turned 62.1212121212 into 62.14

I tell you the guy is an idiot.

Space Ship One N328KF

328,000/5280= 62.12121212

Jerry is always right.

I told you so.

THE ANOMOLY WAS THE TRIM SYSTEM FAILED. IN EFFECT THE STEERING WHEEL. THE CRAFT STARTED TO ROTATE, VEERED OFF COURSE A BIT (LATE IN BURN FAILURE).

THERE WAS A BACKUP SYSTEM WHICH WAS INITIATED AND THE CRAFT WAS PROPERLY CONTROLLED AFTER THAT.

Ah, but if you preserve the three-digit precision of the initial figures, does it not become 62.1 ? :-)

62.5 miles, 62.5 g

Hmmmm.....

Watch it Jerry. Your head is going to explode one of these days. 8-)

I thin they officaily achieved 100Km plus 124m. But they sill have some serious explaining to do about their low "accuracy".

Didn't the hybrid motor also shut down prematurely?

RayDunakin

Why did you then change that to 62.14 and then claim that was right?

You're an idiot.
