Totally cool launch announcement

To all Rocketeers,

Washington Aerospace Club, NAR Section #578, is pleased to announce the schedule for our club launches at Mansfield, WA for 2004. Thanks to the efforts of several very determined individuals, this new launch site is now available for NW rocketeers. And thanks are also due to the Mayor of Mansfield, who has worked with us to bring this about. Tom and others in Mansfield saw the Discovery Channel shows on high power rocketry and realize they are bringing both an exciting and educational activity to their town.

2004 Schedule:

May 29-31, Saturday-Monday, Fire in the Sky 2004. Commercial Motors.

June 12-13, Saturday-Sunday, Mansfield City Celebration. EX Motors.

September 23-24, Saturday-Sunday. Commercial Motors.

October 20-21, Saturday-Sunday. Commercial Motors-Saturday, EX Motors-Sunday.

All launches for 2004 will operate under an FAA waiver to 17,000 feet AGL (19,276 feet ASL) from 8:00 AM until 6:00 PM.

This will be the first public launch at Mansfield. Some details are still being worked out with city officials and some launch operations are still being determined by club members. Further information on local facilities and site operations will be coming shortly. However we hope that everyone has reserved Memorial Day Weekend for what promises to be a truly outstanding weekend of rocketry.

This is an announcement that just hit our local e-mail list. What a great thing for us here in the Seattle area! Now we have Monroe (30 min drive) for monthly A-K flights to

5,000; 60 acres park in seattle, a bona-fide rocket park, for anytime model rocket flights; Mansfield, above, a 3 1/2 hour drive; Spokane is 6 hours and Bend Or. is 7 1/2 hours out sporting waivers up to 20,000 with windows above and most of eastern Oregon as a recovery area.

Rocketry is alive and well everyone! Light 'em if you got 'em! Build one if you don't.
