The Medford association of rocket science (MARS club) section number 660 of the National Association of Rocketry (NAR) held a high power
rocketry demonstration launch Sunday July 10th from noon until 5pm.
The launch was held at the tailings pond of Jackson county's Wazee lake recreation area. Wazee lake recreation area is approximately 10 miles east of black river falls on hwy. 54. Maps will be listed in the links below.
The launch was held in order to promote the hobby of model rocketry and gain permission to use the launch are for future launches. The club has held other high power launches, school demonstrations, hosted "make-n-take" sessions, numerous sport launches, field trips, and other rocket related activities.
The club members and fellow rocketeers safely launched sport and high power rockets in accordance to local, state, and federal laws, and in compliance with FAA and military regulations. we received permission to have flights of rockets over 3 pounds to altitudes not to exceed 7500 feet above ground level.
