Looks like a home made "G" switch.

To sense when the motor has lit and the rocket has started to accelerate.

(May be user to start a timer or camera, for example)

Yes this is a home made G-switch. When the rocket accelerates, the weight (here two screws) goes to back and close the switch. There is a small magnet that keeps the switch closed when the rocket start to go slower. The switch is used to start a timer.
