Airwolf Helicopter

FWIW, there had been (till last year) a museum in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee

>that included among the exhibits a replica of the Airwolf helicopter. It >was built using some of the hardware from the TV series mock-up, the rest >of the add-on hardware being recreated from official production plans. >Unfortunately the museum was in a lousy location and cost too much for me >to visit, and it's gone now, being replaced by something else. >I expect Airwolf may be headed to another museum collection or possibly to >Star Cars in Gatlinburg.

It's now at the Museum of Aviation in Sevierville. Just up the road.

eum in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee

hey, I got a kick out of Airwolf. BS idea as far as what it could do, but it was cool looking. I agree on Knight Rider, and someone tell me that car wasn't gay. Which Batmobile? Has to be the classic from '66...

...We'd find out what really goes on between Batman and Robin when no one's watching.

Are you sure about that? I read that the airframe had been stripped of the added effects hardware and sold to a buyer in the UK over eBay.

Located at Halson's Helicopter Museum. It's a "recreation", not the original

Halson's Helicopter Museum was the one I talked about at the start! It's GONE. Being replaced with something else. Airwolf's gone.

On the whole I'd rather have Ann Sothern talking to me through the radio than William Daniels. They don't make them like her anymore.

The worst part of Airwolf was watching the lead, what the hell was his name? During the run of the show he became more and more immersed in whatever his particular addiction was.

Whatever became of him?

Whatever became of the original helicopter used in the show?

Last I've heard, Jan-Michael Vincent is living here in my town (Vicksburg, Ms.). He's been here for 7 or 8 years AFAIR. I've never seen him that I know of, but I understand I wouldn't know him. He looks like a street bum, scruffy beard & all & supposedly is wheelchair bound now, due to injuries from a wreck or something. He's very reclusive & has a wife or live - in girlfriend. I think he's supposedly staying pretty clean & sober, except for the pain pills he has to take. Somewhere, there's a website that goes into similar detail, tho my info is second-hand only from a couple of friends who have dealt with him over the years.

Jan Michael Vincent..... According to IMDb, "Fallen Hollywood pin-up Jan-Michael Vincent has gone public about his alcoholism and health struggles in a shocking new TV expose. The former Airwolf heartthrob, who has suffered a series of legal and medical setbacks since his career heyday two decades ago, has taped a rare interview for news show The Insider, which will air next week. Struggling to speak after one of his vocal chords was shattered in an emergency medical procedure following a car crash in 1996, which left him with a broken neck, the now-grizzled star admits alcohol robbed him of his career and memories. Asked to recall the car accident that almost killed him 11 years ago, the dazed actor slurs, "Y'know, I have no idea what you're talking about. I don't remember being in an accident." He goes on to admit he's an alcoholic." His last movie (more of a bit part, actually) was in 2002.
