What are these books about, just pics of blown up German tanks?

They are pictures of knocked out or captured German tanks and other armored vehicles mostly photographed at the end of the war, and the photos have been selected to depict variants or marking schemes that are often unknown from any other source. Sometimes these are late war variants, like the Panthers fitted with steel wheels on the last axle only, or Panthers fitted with sandwich armor on the turret roof to protect from artillery and strafing aircraft. Others are early war relics pressed into service in the last desperate days of the war, like a Panzer I in Berlin fitted with the complete pedestal and 75 mm cannon from a Sturmgeschutz III, or Panzer III training tanks dug in as bunkers.
