Denver Intl Airport Model Aircraft Exhibit

A Centennial of Flight Model Aircraft exhibit is now on display at Denver International Airport (DIA). This exhibit covers the history of aviation told through scale models of significant aircraft. It also includes significant aviation history in the State of Colorado. Most of the models were built by local IPMS members with contributions from the Wings Over The Rockies Musuem's model collection. This exhibit will run thru January 6, 2004.

The exhibit is located on the bridge that connects Concourse A with the Jeppesen Terminal building. It's outside of the Concourse A security zone so you don't need an airline ticket to see it (i.e. you can view it while waiting to pickup reletives). If you are at DIA on a layover, you will need to go through security screening again in order to get back to your plane (don't forget to have your boarding pass!).

BTW: There are three airplanes on display inside of the DIA concourses. A JN-4 Jenny and an Alexander EagleRock (1920's biplane built in Colorado) hang from the ceiling at each end of Concourse B. A Learjet 35 hangs from the center of Concourse C. This Learjet set an around the world record for a business jet and one of its pilots was astronaut Pete Conrad.

Thanks. I pass thru Denver airport every Monday and Thursday but go straight from Concourse B to the terminal and vice versa. I would never have known this was there and will take time to look next Monday.
