Dragon 1/35 T-34/85 question?

Sep 16, 2006 3 Replies

Any suggestions for detailing the inside of the turret/crew compartment of this kit as far as colors go? jim

The inside is an off white color with fittings in black, gray, olive green or red-orange plastic, based on the year of the tank, its upgrades/rebuilds, and its user. Generally the fixed items (guns, systems, controls) are black; radio sets are black or grey with black fittings, and some ammunition cans are olive green.

Probably this way:

1/87 - Premo/ROCO 1/76 - Probably Fujimi 1/72 - DML and Revell (T-34-85) 1/40 - Revell (lousy, but ONLY one in this scale!) 1/48 - old Bandai, perhaps new Trumpeter 1/35 - DML, then Zvezda 1/30 - Ogenyek (lousy, but ONLY one in this scale!) 1/25 - Tamiya (not very good, but original molds and not clones) 1/16 - Trumpeter

Overall the 1/35 DML kits are probably the best combination of value and accuracy.
