I'm currently assembling a Fast and furious Toyota Supra kit. Normally I'd file some flush off parts with it. However, I cannot seem to figure out how to take them off plated parts. Is there a way to get rid of these flush off plated parts?

There are several solutions to the problem but all of them involve removing or damaging the plating at some point:
- Use a sharp knife blade to scrape off the flash, and touch in any bare areas of plastic with chrome paint.
- Strip the chrome plating using brake fluid and respray the part using Al-Clad, a chrome paint that can only be applied using an airbrush and requires some prep beforehand.
- Strip the plating off and re-cover with bare metal foil.
However, if it's an engine part (cam cover, exhaust etc) you could probly get away with a silver painted finish.
Personally, I'd go with 1. Easier and less likely to be noticable if anything goes wrong.

Yeah, I did 1 already. NOt noticeable but if the flash is located facing upwards, then we're in big trouble. :)))
