I would really like to build a Tigercat that wasn't glossy sea blu all over. Does anyone know of any verifiable versions, with pictures as proof? tia N
Page 173-175 of Lloyd Jones' "US Fighters" shows the XP-65 in NM finish. Or you could carry it one step further and say "what if" the US Army accepted the Tigercat and developed it?

You could try the experimental US Army ones in OD/NG. The RAF and the FAA both got versions to test. Squadron each I think. They all flew on D-Day so invasions stripes are a possibility.

How about the black ones in Korea? They were far from "all over" glossy, being heavily faded and weathered.
IIRC a couple were in bare metal finish, and of course there are the civil firebombers. Kim M
