My input -- you usually get what you pay for. About six years ago I got tired of the inconsistent performance of my Badger 150 and 175, especially the 150 with acrylics, and plunked down about 2X the cost for an Iwata HP-BC. What a pleasure -- I have had six years of virtually trouble free excellence in airbrush performance with all types of paint. I recently got out the 150 for a simple non-critical job and was quickly reminded of frustrations from the past. I usually spend more time with maintenance on my airbrushes than I do using them so I know that they are mechanically right. I've successfully painted many models with my Badgers in spite of frequent performance frustrations. I think my Badgers are normal for their category though as I see my friends wrestle with the same problems with their similar airbrushes, both Badger and other brands. I've also talked to some who have never had any problem with their airbrushes in this category -- that's great, more power to them. To me it's well worth it to spend the extra money to get the performance I want. A replacement nozzle for my Iwata is $25. and I'd be happy to replace it if I had to -- to get the performance I now expect. My say is to go with what ever works for you. If you want higher performance though it may cost you a little more.
