Mack Truck

Anyone know where I can find a Mack Truck model kit? It is going to be my next project, and I plan on doing it as a gift for my father. My father retired from Mack Truck after 34 years of service, and I sort of want to do this and give it to him as a gift. I really haven't found much in the searches I have done online. Any help would be appreciated.

The model of the truck would be very helpful.

Italeri do a Renault Magnum (as sold by Mack, now that Renaiult own them) and there is a set of photo-etch available to convert it into a Mack badged example.

AMT has a 1/25 one. If it's not available currently, hit eBay.

Any model of truck would be fine....my father worked at the Hagerstown facility, and all they made was the powertrain, and all transmission assembly. I think I am going to check on that AMT model anyway.

You could try this truck modeling site:

The 'truckkit instructions' department might be the most useful for your purposes. I know that Ertl did some 70's / 80's Macks.

I think this Texaco tanker truck is a Mack, circa 1920s, 30s. It certainly looks like one. ... nice model ..... Maybe Al Capone used one like it to transport illegal booze. 1/25th scale I think. Costs $8.00. I have a Polish/English word list of model terms to help translate the instruction. ./Vess

AMT offered 3 of 4 different types, including a cement mixer.
