July 18 1942: In Germany, the first all-jet Messerschmitt Me 262 V3 prototype makes its first flight at Leipheim. The aircraft is powered by a pair of Junkers Jumo 109-004B turbojets.

how many of those repros did they build? i know several visited germany. must have been a little creepy.
