My favorite is Kurasawa's "Yojimbo", which was the inspiration for the Eastwood/Leone "A Fistful of Dollars" -- I guess you could call it a "Spaghetti Eastern"...

I forget the director/producer's name but wasn't 'Seven Samurai' the catalyst for ' The Magnificent Seven'? I like the Japanese films from the 50's and early 60's. I've always wanted to see a film on WW2 from the eyes of a Japanese grunt. Any suggestions? Mike IPMS Mike IPMS

kurasawa. and yes, magnificent seven eas an almost note for note rip. i can't remember names but there's a good one on the phillipines from the japanese view.
