Tomorrow's RIAT has been cancelled due to atrocious weather conditions over the past few days:

An RAF neighbour has just returned home and given me the news. he was on the 90th Anniversary Parade today. It was OK until the very last moments, when the heavens opened and about 800 best uniforms got ruined in the downpour!

The car parks are a quagmire and they had to get tractors and other 4 wheel drive vehicles to try and pull cars clear.

Not good...

As for Duxford, I'm on duty there tomorrow and I've not been stood down, but it's not been as bad on this side of the UK. However, tomorrow's forecast is for showers and sunny spells. At least at Duxford, you have the whole of the museum to take shelter in!

Bummer, dude!

I hit the '78 Farnborough show and while under grey skies was dry. Not so for '87 Paris air show which was wetwetwet and miserable, plus my idiot daughter got lost and we had to try and find her knowning she spoke zero French. At least they had the national aviation museum there as well, so can sympathize on Duxford!

I've got tickets for Sunday. At the moment Sunday is still planned to go ahead with an announcement at 4pm on Saturady.

But to be honest if it is as bad as you say I don't hold out much luck.

Cheers,

Nigel
