I love that stuff pattern makers use these days, and would like to get some for a project I will be starting (ship with scratch hull). A four by eight sheet is too expensive for me, even though it might last a lifetime. I have heard that some brands are available in smaller sheets.
What are some of the brands available in smaller sizes? I want to do a web search- the only name a know is Renshape.

Don, I recall reading of RenShape somewhere, but I no longer recall where / when, althought it was probably Scale Auto or FSM. There were
3 grades in the article. A little work on yahoo turned up Freeman Supply and RenShape 5020 (10#/cu ft - Lt. Grey), RenShape 5025 (15#/cu ft - Lt.Green), and RenShape 5030 (20#/cu ft - Peach). They note that the 5020 is available in "partial boards" as shown here:

There is also a "sample pack" noted here:

No idea of price / shipping for any of the above.
Local sources might be found by checking for either "patern makers" or "pattern making supplies" in the yellow pages. I suspect that the pattern makers may have cutoffs or scrap thay you could get for next to nothing.
I've never used the stuff, but it *is* intriguing....
