Back at the turn of the last century my grandfather and grandmother changed the unpronouncible Catalan Converso Spanish family name to Young. When WWI came along they were involved in all kinds of events to support the victime of the "Huns". In the early days of the American entry into WWII my grandfather was called in and told to "prove" that the family name was not of German origin. My grandmother, maiden name Leiderich, was so pissed off that she went to the people running the interogation (local people of "impecible" repute) and threatened to expose their WWI and immediate pre-WWII German leanings, including the head of the group who had been a secret Bund member. The entire family were heavilly involved in the American effort. My father was a supervisor at Marinship shipyards. His job was directing the placing of the bridge structure in one piece onto Liberty ships. My uncle, with several years as a butcher, was put through cooks and butchers training, sent to Italy and handed an M1 for the duration. He was actually involved in the capture of Grandma's family (she was born in San Jose, CA) German home town. All of the daughters worked in the defence industry. My mother was a cop during the war and, until she became too frail, was a crack pistol shot. I still have her American Standard automatic and take it to the range often.I guess the tradition continues. When Lynne lived in Santee, CA she headed the group that got Tom Metzger ousted from the school board. Now there's a guy who needs to suffocate while his head is up his ass.Tom=A0=A0 On Apr

Yeah, dumb as the proverbial brick. Even a dolt can see that there's no way the Germans would have given their party an English name LOL
I still like the birthday cake with "Sieg Heil" on it. That's like something straight out of "The Producers". But there are still more Nazi sympathizers around than most people suspect:
