Anyone have a clue as to how the Danish Ship ROAR EGE was originally sealed against weather and sea and how it might have been colored, circa 1000 AD?

Jim -- I'm not sure about the specific ship that you're refering to, but Enzio Angelucci's "Ships" has some very good drawings of Nordic vessel from that time period. Check your library, if possible. HTH,
