If you're looking at the TA-4J's I flew in VT-86 put the instruments anywhere you want. Out the twelve jets we had there was no standardization other than the AB-1J (IIRC) that was in the middle of the panel.

airliners.net (photo search engine) has more than 4 "pages" of TA-4J's
Also try doing a Google search. For best results, go to images, then advanced search, and then where it says something to the effect of "exact phrase" type in "TA-4J" (without the quotes). It lists 559 TA-4J pics. The very first photo on my search was a TA-4J instrument panel (whether front or rear I didn't notice). HTH

Close. AJB-3A (All Attitude Gyro, Bombing for the uninitiated). Provided 360 degree pitch and roll, plus bomb release G-cueing from the armament computer - which, BTW, was not installed on NAVAIRTRACOM TA-4Js. However, it was a useful tool for tossing bombs that you did not want to be around when they went off.

Front. Click on the photo and it takes you to a site with all cockpit shots. Cool stuff for modelers.
Nice tip - had never tried that on Google before.
Even us old pharts can learn new tricks - contrary to what you might have heard!
