Èuropean fighters and weapons questions

Hi again!



Is the Kormoran missile used by any other aircraft than the Tornado? I'm wondering, since it seems an obvious weapon to try and hang on the Eurofighter, and since I've got two missiles, a Eurofighter, and no Tornado...



Second, is the Exocet missile slated for use on the Rafale? How about any others of the modern/semi-modern European fighters?



Third, is there a good source of ASRAAM missiles in 1/72 scale, or will I have to make them myself? How are they arranged on the Eurofighter?



Fourth, which other aircraft except the F-16 and Eurofighter can or will carry the Penguin missile?



Fifth, is there a site somewhere that carries loadout tables for combat aircraft? I'm thinking of constructing my own table collection, and I'd like to know where to start...

Er... 'fraid I can't answer any of those points. But I just wanted to say there was a time when the model mags would have covered these kinds of topics. One day, one day soon, my friend, WW2 will go out of fashion and answers to your questions will be forthcoming. Till then, you're sure to get the answer either here or thru old fashioned web searches. Chek

click on 'weapons overlay' button on the Air to Air section or Air to ground section..... then move your mouse over the weapon of choice to see the loadout.... simple

Blue is the normal weapon load, the red ones are possible weapons loads.

and if you want to see what a weapon looks like and it specs just click on its name..

it takes a while to load on a slow link.

The thing is, it seems so *obvious*, and the only other ASMs mentioned in conjunction with the Eurofighter are the Penguin and the Harpoon.

Okay... I'm a little bummed out that although they actually include the innermost hardpoints, (while leaving them out in the instructions, and marking them as discardable...) Italeri conveniently forgets (again) that there's a fourth station for twin Sidewinders/ASRAAMs/IRIS-Ts. And it's hard to tell if those stations will work in conjunction with drop tanks - the fit seems really tight.

Other way around, according to the text (makes sense, since otherwise AMRAAM's would be optional).
